Four weeks past so quickly. I spent an unforgettable time with the other students and teachers in the summer camp. I will remember every happy and upset moment here. This summer camp greatly deepened my understanding of the America and enabled me to communicate with a variety of people.
The classes here are helpful, especially for students who desire to take a deep look into the English novels. My favorite classes are reading and writing classes, which really widened my horizons. I realized that there could be so much in a novel I read but I did not understand. Just take the first novel the cask of the Amontillado for example. The main point of the novel was that Montresor, a man with sensitive family pride, took revenge on Fortunato who had injured and insulted Montresor. Did you get anything interesting from the names of the main character? The name Fortunato immediately reminded me of the word fortunate. Certainly, Fortunato, who was revenged by Montresor, could not be fortunate. There was an obvious irony here. The name Montresor, a combination of the French words ' Mon ' and 'tresor' , which meaned ' my ' and ' pride ' , led to one of the motives of Montresor, the family pride.
The teacher enlightened me through such kinds of careful analysis, which made my reading experience more enjoyable.
We also spend much time on athletics in the summer camp. Girls prefer badminton while boys enjoy playing basketball. As a novice basketball player, I learned a lot through playing with more experienced teammates. Our team captain is familiar with all kinds of skills and strategies. He kept informing us that practice was the only routine to improve skills. We also learned a lot about how to cooperate during the game to get score for our team. When we left the camp, we brought with us more enthusiasm on sports and deeper friendship.
There are so many unforgettable things in the camp. I will remember the students and teachers here. They are all unique. It is a wonderful experience to share four weeks' time with them.
